SCHOOLS AND COLLEGES
The UKAEA Fusion programme operated at Culham operates a vigorous education outreach programme. Opportunities for secondary schools or colleges to visit the fusion experiments (including the novel MAST experiments as well as the world famous, joint European JET fusion experiment) are available. A typical visit is around 3 hours and the maximum number of visitors is thirty. As there is normally a waiting list for such visits, early booking is advised. Also available is the opportunity for a scientist to come and talk and/or demonstrate the basics of fusion science at your school (primary or secondary). Presentations are tailored to the age group concerned.
For more details of any of these opportunities, please contact Chris Warrick, Education Outreach Manager (01235 466647 or chris.warrick@ukaea.org.uk).
PUBLIC OPEN EVENINGS
Due to high demand for public visits to view the fusion facilities at Culham, UKAEA operates a series of Visit evenings (about three per year). For details of the dates of these evenings and to put your name down for a ticket, please contact Susan Hayward, Events Co-ordinator on 01235 466363 or susan.hayward@ukaea.org.uk
