Cyclists
Do you bike to work? Would you like information on routes to work, events, rides out etc? Did you know Culham has its very own Culham Bicycle Users' Group?

A new subscription mail list has been created for cyclists - cyclists@jet.efda.org intended as a simple, occasional means of communication with cyclists on the Culham site. It may be used to announce any route/facility closures, meetings, campaigns, cycling events and so on.

You can subscribe by sending an email (which MUST be in Plain Text format) to: cyclists-request@jet.efda.org and in the body of the email you must put:

Subscribe

End ... and nothing else. It doesn't need a subject.

Jive
  Culham Sports and Social Club
Modern Jive (also known as CEROC; LEROC; French Jive) is a simple form of Male lead dancing and is the fastest growing partner dance in the world with over 500,000 active dancers hitting the dance floors weekly and by far the most popular of the vast selection of social dances that people of any age and ability can learn. Its four-beat rhythm means that it can be danced to almost any piece of music.

There is no need to sign up for a course. Each week will consist of learning 3 new moves and by the end of the first lesson you will be able to make an impression on the dance floor. The more weeks you attend – the more moves you learn – the more impressive you will look.

There is no need to bring a partner because with Modern Jive the classes are taught on a rotational basis. This means that you get to dance with people with varying levels of experience and get to know the whole class.

You must be a member of - or prepared to join – the Culham Sports and Social Club at £1 per month

Experienced Jivers also required to give the beginners a helping hand

Yoga
Social Club Building C1 Culham Science Centre

The Culham Yoga Group warmly invites new members. Sessions are held in the main hall of the Social Club (building C1) and are held every Monday, from 12:15 - 13:15 (£5) and Thursday, 16:30 - 18:00 (£8 weekly or £45 subscription per 8 week term). Visitors and all on site (from total beginners to the more experienced) are very welcome.

We practice mainly the first stage of Iyengar yoga which works to build a strong, flexible and balanced physical body. The exercises are suitable for all ages and physical abilities, each working within his or her own limits. In a typical session, every muscle, joint and internal organ gets either stretched, extended or massaged, and regular practitioners will benefit from improved strength, flexibility, elasticity and balance.

Our Teacher, Sue Read, is very experienced and has trained in Mr Iyengar's Institute in Pune, India. Poses can be modified and may be beneficial for injuries.
