BIKE TO WORK REPORT

Bike Week

Over 100 Culham staff took to the road on a lovely day in June as part of the regional Science Vale UK ‘Bike to Work’ day. Having arrived at Culham the cyclists were given a free breakfast – with bacon sandwiches, pastries, yogurt and muesli all on the menu.

“Thank you to all who took part and supported the annual event,” said CCFE’s Richard Kemp one of the co-organisers. “The weather on the day was sunny and warm, and I hope those cycling to Culham didn’t suffer too much from their endeavours.”

The names of all participants were entered in a raffle for prizes donated by Commercial Property Group and Safety and Environment departments. The winners and prizes were as follows:
1st ‘Polar’ Heart Monitor – Peter Sharpe (CNC)
2nd ‘Green Oil’ ecoRider Deluxe Set – Emma Wooldridge (CCFE)
3rd Book – ‘Lost Lanes – 36 Glorious Bike Rides in Southern England’ – David Croft (CCFE)

“A special thanks to the Commercial Property and Safety Group for the organisation, breakfasts, and raffle prizes,” added Richard. “And also to Lorne Stewart for providing Andy Fernside as the Bike Doctor, IMASS for the health checks, and Abingdon’s Outdoor Traders for the bike display.”
